Protect elephants and the critical habitats they depend on. Your support helps conserve elephant populations where they are most at risk from poaching, habitat loss, and human-wildlife conflict.
Elephants are keystone species that shape entire ecosystems, dispersing seeds, creating water sources, and maintaining the balance of their habitats. They are intelligent, social, and vital to biodiversity—but populations are rapidly declining due to poaching, habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and climate change. Conservation Allies works with trusted local partners across Africa and Asia to protect these magnificent animals, from Indonesia’s forests to Kenya’s savannas.
Trusted local partnerships: We work with on-the-ground conservation experts who best understand elephant behavior, threats, and habitats.
Highly efficient conservation: 100% of donations go directly to elephant conservation, making us one of the most effective elephant conservation organizations in the world.
Proven impact: Thousands of elephants protected, critical habitats preserved, and human-wildlife conflict reduced.
Give today and your gift will be matched by our Board, doubling your impact—every dollar goes directly to critical elephant conservation projects.
As some of the most effective conservation groups on the planet, our partners are critical guardians of endangered elephants and their habitats throughout Africa and Asia.
Indonesia
Reducing human-elephant conflict and restoring elephant habitat in Sumatra and Kalimantan
Belantara Foundation protects some of Indonesia’s most critical elephant populations and their forest habitats. Through their “Living in Harmony” initiative in South Sumatra, they reduce human-elephant conflict by planting elephant feed crops, establishing salt licks, and creating safe ecological corridors that guide elephants away from villages. Their forest restoration projects have reforested 94 hectares within UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, planting native species that provide food and habitat for Sumatran elephants. By combining peatland restoration with community engagement across five villages, Belantara ensures that both people and elephants can thrive together, preserving Indonesia’s biodiversity while improving local livelihoods and reducing dangerous encounters.
Kenya
Building collaborative conservation efforts and managing human-wildlife coexistence across Kenya’s critical elephant landscapes
The Conservation Alliance of Kenya works to protect Kenya’s elephant populations by strengthening collaboration among conservation organizations across the country. CAK addresses critical challenges in elephant conservation by building member capacity for data sharing, creating centralized knowledge platforms for conservationists, and developing key policies including reviews of wildlife legislation and landscape conservation master plans for ecosystems like Tsavo and Kakamega. They tackle human-elephant conflict through community-based solutions while restoring degraded conservation areas. By connecting conservationists, government bodies, and communities, CAK enhances conservation efforts to ensure that Kenya’s elephants have the protected landscapes and community support they need to survive and thrive.
